Kevin Keagen finally end his long and acrimonious disput with Newcastle United following his leaving the club. The courts ruled in his favour agreeing that he did suffer what was described as constructive  dismissal.  The judge was very critical on the actions of the them Director of Football Dennis Wise, saying the Wise made the job of manager (Keagen's) unworkable.

The judge also made an order that Newcastle pay Keagans court costs in full, though to be in the order of £1.5m, rejecting Newcastles plea that they had offered a suitable compensation package. They wanted to included a confidetial clause preventing Keagan revealing that details for an out of court settlement.

In is summing up the judge firmly implicated the directors at Newcastle in making Kevin Keagans position unworkable ans unacceptably stressfull, awarding Keagam £3m in damages, dismissing all of Newcastle's arguements as to their defence.

Newcastle owner had said that a large damages award would have servere repercusions for the club, this must not have been the case has he now as taken the club off of the market and is prepared to make more investment.
